How the COA Checker works

  1. Upload the certificate however you have it, as a PDF, a screenshot, a photo taken on your phone, or by scanning the QR code printed on the vial label.
  2. The checker reads the document and pulls out the fields that matter, including compound identity, purity, net peptide content, batch and lot numbers, test dates, analytical methods, and the testing laboratory.
  3. Seventeen weighted checks run across four categories and produce a score out of 100.

What the checker looks for

Identity and potency

Whether the document confirms the compound is what the label claims, using methods such as HPLC and mass spectrometry, and whether purity is reported in a way that can actually be verified. Net peptide content is scored separately from purity, because the two get conflated constantly and a high purity figure on a low net peptide product tells you very little.

Batch traceability

Whether a unique lot or batch number ties the document to the vial in your hand, whether manufacture and test dates are present and current, and whether the certificate could be matched back to a specific production run.

Lab independence

Whether the testing laboratory is named, whether it holds relevant accreditation such as ISO 17025, and whether that lab is independent of the seller rather than an internal report the seller produced themselves.

Safety and marketing risk

Whether sterility and endotoxin testing appear where they should for injectable preparations, and whether the document carries claim language or marketing framing that has no business appearing on an analytical report.

Methodology and limits

The scoring engine was built and tested against real certificates from accredited laboratories including Eagle Analytical, Accumark Labs, Vanguard Laboratory, ILS Laboratories, BTLabs, MZ Biolabs, and Freedom Diagnostics. Earlier versions were built around research-chemical vendor documents and failed on accredited lab reports, so the engine was rebuilt to handle compendial USP method references, US date formats, IU units, and net peptide content reported separately from purity.

Two rules override the score outright. A certificate dated more than 24 months ago is marked Unsupported regardless of how it scores elsewhere, because a certificate describes one batch at one moment in time. A certificate missing both identity and purity is also marked Unsupported, since without those two fields there is nothing meaningful left to evaluate.

There are real limits worth stating plainly. The checker does not test the product, does not verify that a document is authentic, and cannot confirm the named laboratory actually performed the work. It scores the quality and completeness of the evidence in front of you, which is a different thing from proving the product is what it claims to be.

Anything absent from that list is a gap worth asking about.
How can you tell if a peptide COA is fake?
Common tells include a missing or unnamed testing laboratory, no lot number tying the document to a specific batch, dates that are absent or several years old, purity claimed with no method or chromatogram behind it, and marketing language appearing on a document that should read as a plain analytical report.
What purity level is normal on a research peptide COA?
Most research peptide certificates report purity in the high nineties by HPLC. The figure alone means less than people assume, because purity describes what share of the peptide material is the target compound rather than how much peptide is actually in the vial, which is why net peptide content matters alongside it.

A product can report 99 percent purity and still contain substantially less peptide than the label suggests.

Independence matters because a report produced by the seller's own laboratory carries an obvious conflict of interest. A named third-party laboratory holding accreditation such as ISO 17025 is meaningfully stronger evidence than an internal document, and an unnamed laboratory is the weakest signal of all.
